Shawna Brown, Community Relations & Marketing Manager, The Verdes Foundation
If you believe that cannabis education is a way to freedom and empowerment, we have just the thing for you. On Sunday, March 4th The Verdes Foundation will present the 2nd Annual New Mexico Medical Cannabis Conference at the National Hispanic Cultural Center.
As cannabis continues to be schedule 1 substance, it can be difficult to gain access to critical high-level cannabis education. The rural nature of New Mexico can also be a barrier as we aren’t typically a hot-spot for national presenters. This conference changes that. The goal of this event is to give New Mexicans of all socioeconomic backgrounds the opportunity to gain information that will enhance their knowledge of medical cannabis.
Early bird tickets are $20.00, making this event affordable and accessible to as many people as possible. We want the New Mexico cannabis community to feel empowered by their medicine, and ultimately, knowledges give us that power.
This year’s tagline, Your Plant. Your Health. Your Way., says it all. Our goal is to inspire patients to take control of their medicine by first understanding how it works. Each expert presenter is extremely knowledgeable and brings a depth of knowledge to this special event.
- How Patients Benefit from Medical Cannabis, presented by Bonni Goldstein, M.D., Medical Director of Canna-Centers
- Comparison of the Anti-Tumor Efficacy of a Whole-Plant Extract vs. Pure THC in Preclinical Models of HER2-Positive Breast Cancer, presented by Mara Gordon of Aunt Zelda’s, Inc.
- Cannabis: A Solution to the Opioid Epidemic?, presented by Dr. Dustin Sulak founder of Integr8 Health
- Nutrition, Cannabis and Cancer, presented by Debra Kimless, M.D., Board-certified Anesthesiologist and the medical director for ForwardGro
In addition to hearing expert presentations you’ll have the opportunity to meet with dispensaries, manufactures, and health care professionals who are prepared to answer any questions you may have. Some will also have great items for you to take home with you (non-medicated, of course).
There are still plenty of stigmas about marijuana that continuously hurt those who rely on this plant for their overall wellbeing. The more that we can educate the entire community about the benefits of cannabis, the closer we can get to a society that gives people the freedom to choose how they wish to care for their health. We encourage you to share this event with your friends and family, even those who are unsure about cannabis. If they can’t attend I hope that you will continue to be an advocate for this amazing plant.
